Themistoklis is a European Parliament Ambassador School

Themistoklis High school successfully attained to officially gain the title of European Parliament Ambassador School due to our marvellous activities and projects.

The activities we  undertook to raise awareness and inform the public about the European Elections included providing information to people at the local market as well as at metro stations. We also had the opportunity to visit the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola and the Mayor of Keratsini- Drapetsona, who gave us useful information about local environmental problems. Throughout the programme, there was continuous information-sharing and research to enhance our understanding and effectiveness.

We visited the “Κανάλι 1″radio station and took part in the live programme talking about how we try to broaden our horizons through these activities.

We also organized a successful soiree, with prominent speakers including presentations, speeches and an interesting discussion about Climate Change.

This year’s theme focuses on the Freedom of the Press or Feedom of the Media as a principle of democracy and a human right. As ambassadors, we have already planned our activities for this scool year.A few days ago, the EPAS team had the opportunity to communicate with high school students  from Sweeden who visited our country and our school and exchanged ideas and opinions about this issue.We also visited the Mayor of Keratsini -Drapetsona, Mr. Vrettakos Christos. During our visit we had the opportunity to engage in a meaningful and fruitful discussion about the importance of freedom of the press and its role in promoting transparency and accountability in local governance. we discussed how an independent press is essential for ensuring that citizens stay informed about decisions affecting their community.All of these activities showcase the power of open communication and the role  we all play in upholding democratic values. We continue with determination, passion and collaboration as the EPAS team of our High School!!!!!The journey ahead is full of possibilities!!!!!
